As PI stories go, this had some promise. I wish though that someone could get past the Sam Spade/Philip Marlowe clonesRob Kitchinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05567424969308636082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825564497920015595.post-39555211273278562882011-04-22T20:34:49.218+01:002011-04-22T20:34:49.218+01:00I, too, wrote about Earl Emerson for Forgotten Fri...I, too, wrote about Earl Emerson for Forgotten Friday Books a few weeks ago. Maybe together we can get people interested in Emerson's books!! (I hated this cover, though. Yikes!) And yes, they do improve as they go along. I like the Thomas Black series very much, but I also like the Mac Fontana series by Emerson, as well. I think he is a much undervalued writer.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825564497920015595.post-90285492353841236252011-04-22T15:21:09.304+01:002011-04-22T15:21:09.304+01:00I have read a couple of Emerson's other series...I have read a couple of Emerson's other series (Yellow Dog Party) about the fire department investigator, that series is okay. I've read but none of this series. Sounds like a somewhat rocky beginning.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
