Gunshot Blues II

I'm really unimpressed re. this bit of news.

We regret to inform you that we have been unable to obtain the following item:

Adrian Hyland "Gunshot Road: An Emily Tempest Mystery (Emily Tempest Mystery 2)"  http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/184916214X

Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available. This item has now been cancelled from your order.

I pre-ordered the book and have spent the last couple of months reading rave reviews.  Very frustrating.  I guess I'll go a different route.  Grrrrr!

Rob, if it helps I ordered this book through Amazon UK on Aug 29. I received it by Sep 6. If you are interested in more details please advise.

That's so sad. I would send you my very own copy but for the fact that my sister-in-law started reading it while she was here from the US and "accidentally" put it in her luggage to take home. Hope you can source it from elsewhere, though it does seem daft that I scored it from the UK with no troubles and you can't get it.

Not the same cover, but I think you could order the American edition quite easily. Soho Press does it over here.

I've had a couple of similar notifications from them recently - I think perhaps they've lost their publishing contacts - I have seen similar comemnts on lists I belong to

Checked the Book Depository but it looks like most editions of "Gunshot Road," are out of stock--hard cover and paperback.

There is one item that may be in stock.

It also says that a paperback edition will be available in February of 2011.

Maybe the book is just sold out by various vendors. Maybe the books are out of stock.

Given the book has been out of stock for at least three months, you'd think the publisher would reprint. Anyway, I'll find one on the web somewhere. Funnily, the next email in my inbox was also from Amazon letting me know about a deal on a book on how to deal with stress!
